“Sheffield singer songwriter Caleb Francis has blown the door off its hinges with his debut single release ‘Only Nineteen’ and is unquestionably fulfilling his brief “to make slanty interesting indie music.” - The Unsigned Guide

“Stepping boldly onto the musical stage this November with his debut single, ‘Only Nineteen’ Caleb Francis is crafting music that has both intricate melodies and compelling storytelling.

‘Only Nineteen’ opens with highly processed vocals before dissolving into a groovy rhythm that reminded me of early Arctic Monkeys. The bass is loose, lazy, and easy, while the guitars carry a wail and cry that bends and folds into Caleb’s vocals. It’s a mosaic of fractured sound that is harmonious, lush, and velvety like an amber whiskey.

There’s a deeply nuanced feel to ‘Only Nineteen’, a feeling of one that is lost and so desperately trying to be found. The song gives me a feeling of running down a long corridor that is never ending. With such a potent narrative at its core, Caleb Francis invites one into a realm where each note unfolds like a captivating chapter in a gripping novel.

‘Only Nineteen’ is the signal that Caleb Francis has arrived.” - Amplify the Noise

“With mellow swagger, he threads an immersive alternative sound that captures a familiar sound while filtering it through his highly original creative lens. Peppered with slick lead guitar flourishes and wrapped in a lo-fi psychedelic aesthetic, “Only Nineteen” is an astonishing first outing from a truly talented newcomer who’s instantly staked his claim as a must watch artist of this year and beyond.” - Plastic Magazine

“Caleb Francis, the latest artist to come out of Sheffield, releases his new debut single 'Only Nineteen' on an unsuspecting world ahead of a string of dates around some great venues. Musically, the song hums and buzzes in to life with dystopian energy before clarity breaks out and Francis steps in to a moody, indie spot-light with a loosened tie around his neck and a glint in his eye. The vocals are funneled through some heavy effects but the rest of this is raw indie rock with a swagger and more than a hint of mischief. Definitely one to keep an eye on” - Listen with Monger
